REGIONAL DIRECTOR’S ACCEPTENCE SPEACH

It is with feelings of pride, happiness and gratitude that I stand before you to accept the responsibility of navigating the Central Travancore Region during the time when our Movement is entering into the second century of its successful existence and service. As your humble servant I accept the task you have entrusted to me with all humility.

I am conscious of my limitations but I pledge to you that I shall do my level best to live up to the trust you have placed in me with the help of God and with co-operation of all of you. I am particularly happy to see that the chief guest of the installation ceremony is not less a person than the International President Elect Ym Dr. K.C.Samuel and that the Regional team has been installed by our dynamic Area President Ym.Dr.Anand Jacob Varghese. Both the leaders traditionally belongs to our Region.

I am conscious of the fact that I am taking over this responsibility at a time when our Movement is passing through a crucial time in human history. We all need Peace, dignity and equality on a healthy planet. In our Region we need certain transformational changes in our approach towards membership conservation and extention, Menettes and Youth Empowerment programs, nurturing of leadership, branding and positioning, web based management system, publicity on digital media, implementation of International projects , our partnership with YMCA and also our approach towards planet earth Based on these intentions in mind I took the Regional Theme as ‘Unfold the Devine Potential to Think and Act Beyond’ and Slogan as ‘CONSERVATION EXTENSION LEADERSHIP’ While we are in the threshold of a new century it is our responsibility to think of Y’sdom yesterday, today and tomorrow and act accordingly.

In tune with the International Project ‘Heal The World’ and the Area Project’ Health, Education and Environment’, our Region has taken ‘RENAL CARE’ as the major Project. Let the major project be our flagship project during this centennial year. All our clubs are at their choice to do community service in the field of Education and Environment as minor projects. It is our bound duty to search and serve. A Club cannot exist without service just as a fire cannot exist without burning. This year I seek the attention of all former and present leaders in all levels to use all your resources to make a visible impact in our community by successfully implementing all our envisaged community projects and to attain 25% growth.

To maintain transparency accountability and continuity it is our obligation to adhere to the Troika system in the Club, District, Zonal and Regional administration. I want every member to be enthusiastically active and to take the membership seriously. Drop in membership and clubs reporting less than 15 members is of great concern .It is my earnest request to my friends to report with additions to the closing membership of April 2022,in the July2022 report.

Being an International organization it is our obligation to contribute generously towards various International Projects.We shall continue ‘Roll Back Malaria’ as the Global Impact Project. We will encourage effort to control mosquito population in environmently equitable ways prioritising preservation of Biodiversity.

Over the years Y’sdom has emerged as an Internationally acclaimed service oriented family organization based on love, compassion, sacrifice and selflessness as its core values. As we are aware Clubs are the building blocks of the Movement. Our Region will be promoting image building programmes for all the family members of the Club for their self development and community impact through them.

It is
the moral and constitutional responsibility of the Clubs , Districts , Zones and the Region to give emphasis and promote entertaining and informative family meetings regularly in all Clubs. It is the fundamental and functional responsibility of all Clubs to motivate Menette’s and Lings/Youths’ involvement and promote their programs and projects. This year special recognition will be given to such Clubs. Special awards and Trophies will be instituted for various visible and impactful contributers in all levels.

As someone rightly said “Surround yourself with people who have dreams, desire and ambition they will help you to push forward to realize your own”. Our Region is blessed with two experienced senior engineers to lead two Zones Ym.Er. P.A Mathew as LRD for Zone 1 and Ym. Er. Shaji Mathew for Zone 2. All our six Districts are governed by committed District Governors For District 1 we have Ym. Adv. Aby Thomas , for Dist. 2 Ym Dr. K Jacob , for Dist. 3 Ym.V.S Jose for Dist. 4 Ym.K.K Cheriangee, for Dist 5 Ym. Dale Paul,and for Dist. 6 Ym Dr. Sherry. M.Joseph. Our Cabinet is filled with enthusiastic and experienced leaders to work meticulously to keep the Region vibrant in the path of progress.

They all are duty bound to help you round the clock. More over this year we are blessed to have a Y’sling turned jovial leader Ym.Adv.Jacob Varghese as our RD Elect. I shall be failing in my duty if I do not acknowledge the great service rendered to our Movement by the outgoing and first Regional Director of the Region Ym.George Daniel and his team and I thank him for the love and affection he showered on me during this year. I cannot forget on occasion like this my indebtedness to my Home Club Elanthoor and the love, encouragement and developmental opportunities I obtained from my Club.  Finally I thank all Past Regional directors those who have offered me their suggestions and all other Leaders , family members and guests who have assembled here to bless the Regional team .Let us rededicate ourself to the service of humanity by strengthening the bond of fellowship in our Movement. I want all of you to labour hard but not to ask for any reward. Rewards will come to you without asking for them.If I may adapt Kennedy’s famous word a little, do not ask what the Movement can give you but ask what you can give to the Movement.

The richest way to live your life is to go into any relationship looking at what can I give than what can I receive. Let Y’sdom be gift to the world by we becoming a gift to Y’sdom. Human life is an evolving consciousness and today can be better than yesterday and tomorrow can be better than today. Let us all put our Head, Heart and Hand together to make it possible.
